The Lincoln Parish School Board and Lincoln Parish Police Jury met jointly in Special Session on Tuesday, February, 25, 1992 at 6:30 p.m. in the jury meeting room of the Lincoln Parish Courthouse. Members of the Board present were: Dr. Phil Rice, Mr. David Wright, Mrs. Loyace Braggs, Dr. Marty Beasley, Mr. George Mack, Mr. Andy Shealy, Mr. Jim Kessler, Mr. Wayne Barfield, Mr. Calvin Wilkerson, Ms. Ann M. Boyd, Mr. Paul Woodard and Mr. Allen Tuten.
Absent: None
Mr. Buster Deloney, president of the Lincoln Parish Police Jury, called the meeting to order and following the invocation, Mr. Richard Durrett called on Mr. Ken Selle, demographer with Tri-S, to give the report from the Reapportionment Committee meeting held on Friday, February 21, 1992.
Mr. Selle indicated that as a result of conferences, work with lawyers and reviewers, the following changes were made to our submitted reapportionment plan. In District 1-D, about 400 people were moved out of that district and into District 1-C, thus necessitating shifting some of that population east of Highway 33 into District I-B. The final adjustment was moving some people from District 1-B to 1-A. He indicated that everything else in the plan will remain the same. The changes to be submitted will be primarily numerical.
Following Mr. Selle's presentation and a unanimous vote by the Police Jury to endorse the amended plan, the School Board, upon a motion by Dr. Marty Beasley, seconded by Mr. Jim Kessler, voted 12-0, by a roll call vote to accept the plan as presented.
There being no further business, the joint meeting was adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
