SPECIAL USE OF BOARD-OWNED SCHOOL BUSES
It shall be the policy that the use of the Lincoln Parish School Board owned buses will be restricted in the following manner:
For activities of an educational nature within the Parish, the use of the buses must be requested by the principal of the school involved and it must be limited in time so as not to interfere with the regular route to which that bus is assigned.
For educational activities outside the Parish, the use of the buses will be limited to transporting those students who are engaged in representing their school in the principal activity for which the trip is required. The request for this too must come from the administrator involved.
Approval for the use of the buses must be requested at a time prior to the trip sufficient for the office staff evaluate the request and make arrangements necessary. All buses on all occasions must be driven by persons with a Commercial Drivers’ License (CDL). The principal of the school involved will be held responsible for seeing that the above condition is met.
The Lincoln Parish School Board shall purchase and provide for a school bus for each school district to be used on a route and for special activities depending on availability of an appropriate route and necessary funds. Special use of school bus shall be requested within reasonable time prior to usage (see #3).
