PHILOSOPHY

In its pursuit of excellence in preparing a child for life, the Lincoln Parish School System believes that every student has the inherent right to the best education that can be provided.  The Lincoln Parish School System is dedicated to establishing and following educationally sound objectives that enhance quality instructional programs.

PURPOSES

The major purposes of the Lincoln Parish School System are as follows:

1. To make the schools an essential key to a better life for our students and the lives they touch.
    

2. To help each student develop the ability to think -- the ability to use prior knowledge in the solving of problems.
    

3. To provide each student to realize individual poten­tialities.
    

4. To establish standards for student achievement, without denying needed flexibility.
    

5. To develop school effectiveness through continuing evaluation which will lead to midcourse corrections, to the development of revised objectives, to the diagnosis of additional problems, and to the preparation of further plans.
    

6. To foster a unified academic program, while encouraging each school to take pride in its distinctive character and differences.
    

7. To treat employees as individuals who differ in ability, interests, and experience, but who must function together in an effective school system.
