USE OF SCHOOL FACILITIES
The building principal shall be primarily responsible for initial screening of all requests to use school facilities, ground, or equipment and providing assurance that prospective users are reliable, responsible, and will not use the facility, grounds, or equipment for disreputable purposes.
A ”hold harmless” statement having the effect of holding the School Board free from any liability that may arise while the facilities are in use.
A statement requiring, with limited exception, any person or group leasing the school facilities to purchase liability insurance, in an amount set by the School Board, identifying the School Board as an additional insured. A certificate verifying the purchase of such insurance shall be presented to the School Board along with the signed lease agreement prior to use of the facilities.
A statement that the individual or group lessee shall assume all responsibility for damages and/or maintenance expenses invested in the building, directly or indirectly resulting from lessee’s use.
The Superintendent reserves the right to refuse any request to use facilities which:
Involves any activities prohibited by state and/or School Board policies.
Is made by any persons or organizations which have failed to follow procedures developed by the school system.
Is considered in any way contrary to the best interests of the school system.
Involves activities considered to be hazardous to individuals or facilities.
Involves an organization which discriminates against participants on the basis of race, creed, sex, religion, disability, or national origin.
